Today he is a Consulting Professor at Stanford University, a Principal Engineer at Exponent, a Silicon Valley science and technology public corporation, a member of the Board of the Polish National Center for Research and Development, member of Polish Academy of Science and of Russian Academy of Technological Science, Fellow of American Society of Civil Engineers, co-founder and chairman of US-Polish Trade Council, member of the Advisory Board of Forum Obywatelskiego Rozwoju, FOR, a board member of San Francisco Global Trade Council. He is active in international business from power plant development projects, energy technologies and economics, to high-tech ventures. He is a frequent speaker in venues pertaining to stimulation to international cooperation with and investment into Polish high-tech sector. At Stanford University he is the Academic Director of the Top500 Innovators Program.

Magdalena Diering, Program Coordinator

Magdalena Diering is an Assistant Professor at the Poznan University of Technology (PUT), Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Management, Chair of Management and Production Engineering. She is an expert in statistical process control and measurement system analysis (MSA). Trainer in quality engineering (trainings in MSA, SPC, FMEA, APQP, DMAIC, Lean).
Her interests focuses also on project management and science commercialization. She has extensive experience in organizational, scientific and structural project management. At work she promotes culture of teamwork, design thinking and innovation among Polish scientists and entrepreneurs. She is a graduate of the Top 500 Innovators program at Stanford University (2012). She is a coordinator of the US-Poland Innovation HUB program and USPTC PL vice-president.
Krzysztof Dyczkowski, Evaluation Coordinator

His main research interests are imprecise information processing methods in decision making, computer vision and natural language modeling. In 2010 he received IBM Faculty Award. Member of IEEE Computational Intelligence Society and European Society for Fuzzy Logic and Technology (EUSFLAT). He has many years of experience in IT project management. Co-founder and longtime CEO of an IT company producing and implementing an ERP class system. PARP’s (Polish Agency for Enterprise Development) and NCBiR’s (The National Centre for Research and Development) expert. He is graduate of the Top 500 Innovators program at Stanford University (2012).
Ela Kozera, Program Coordinator (US)

Soody Tronson, Esq. Intellectual Property Attorney in Residence
Soody Tronson is the founder and principal at STLGip, a Silicon Valley boutique technology law firm, counseling domestic and international clients in a wide range of technologies. Soody is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience in law, technology, and management. The firm specializes in all aspects of patents and trademark preparation and prosecution, as well as technology transfer (e.g. licensing). She is a frequent lecturer at domestic and international forums, instructs courses on IP, licensing, technology transfer, and entrepreneurship; and serves as mentor with many organizations. She is also Chair of the Licensing Executives Society, Silicon Valley Chapter and Member of the Board of Directors, and Co-Chair of Patent section with the Palo Alto Area Bar Association.

Marek Salamonowicz
Marek Salamonowicz, Ph.D. (in law), adjunct at Chair of Commercial Law at Faculty of Law and Administration of University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, on the list of experts in IP and competition law by the Centre for Innovation and Technology Transfer of UW-M, member of Supervisory board of that Centre, member of University’s Commission for IP, Non-Governmental Adviser in International Competition Network and member of Competition Law Association, on the list of Top 500 Innovators Program (Stanford University), author of monograph on Patent and know-how licenses in the light of cartel prohibition, C.H. Beck Warsaw 2011, awarded by Polish Minister of Science and Higher Education in Patent Office’s contest for the best doctoral thesis from the field of industrial property law, author of several dozen publications and many expertise opinions on commercial law.
He held a lectures at Universities in Olomouc (Czech Republic), Halle (Germany), Salzburg (Austria). Twice on scholarship at Max Planck’s Institute for Intellectual Property and Competition Law in Munich.

Sara brings over 20 years of Business Development and Business Strategy Experience from both private enterprises and government contracts from various companies in the fields of Telecommunication, Aerospace, and Information Technology. She has been instrumental in building and sustaining cross boarder business opportunities by spearheading global expansion for private enterprises (SME’s) to corporate publicly listed companies as well as helping companies extend globally (in particular into China) providing inception to closure market entry services for companies interested in entering Telecommunication & Information Technology markets.
Prior to the founding of BG Strategy in 2001, she was responsible for business capture strategies, worldwide expansion of business opportunities, and generating and managing contract bids of mulit-million dollar projects in companies such as Alcatel, Lockheed Martin, TRW and Varian. Her international experience includes working and living in France, Germany, Sweden and China. In addition, she brings extensive expertise, working for small and medium companies, in strategic planning from the preparation of business plans, development of marketing plans, financial analysis, financing, valuation, communications for new ventures, extensive 10-year long range master plans and market research.

Stewart Guenther
Stewart Guenther is a co-founder of the Venture Capital ~ Private Equity Roundtable, a unique member only business association of Angel, Venture Capital, Corporate Venture and Private Equity Investors. Since early 2011 Stewart is leading ReachingOut! which is focused on meaningfully bridging centers of entrepreneurship, innovation and venture forming in emerging economies to the Silicon Valley. As the Executive Director of CAS Capital Partners Stewart launched an early stage venture firm The Fast Lane to Clean Technology Fund an associate Cleantech incubator focusing on Clean Technology in the Transportation and Smart Building sectors. Prior to becoming active in the venture industry Stewart held senior product, marketing, and business development roles in networking, B2C and B2B software, mobility and embedded systems companies. Stewart is an advisor and mentor to select start-ups on business planning, international expansion capital sourcing and acquisition positioning. Stewart received his Master of International Business degree from Pepperdine University and the European Business School in Östrich-Winkel, Germany. Jeff Colvin
Jeff Colvin is a Master Instructor and Vice President of Instructor Development for IPS Learning, LLC. Mr. Colvin is responsible for delivering multiple courses in the Stanford Advanced Project Management (SAPM) curriculum to a diverse set of clients around the world. One of Mr. Colvin’s key roles is to train new instructors in enabling successful experiences in the classroom for all clients. He coaches these tenured instructors from past senior management positions before, during, and after their course deliveries. He is also a key contributor to the course design and development activities for both current, and newly established class material.
Mr. Colvin was a cofounder of Link, a management consulting group based in the Silicon Valley. Link provided companies with process improvement and project management training, as well as consulting services that lead to reduced costs and cycle time in their key business processes. In his role, Mr. Colvin led project teams and trained many new consultants to ensure that the core concepts introduced to all his clients had practical applications to positively impact their businesses.
Rafał Stroiński

Mark Iwanowski
Mark Iwanowski has 28 years of operational and investment experience in the technology sectors. Mark has recently joined Cognizant Technology Solution, a $7B global IT company, where he is working directly with the CEO to set up an Corporate VC/Enterprise Business Accelerator that will include a focus on cross border investments between Silicon Valley and Central/Eastern Europe. Mark was previously Managing Director with Trident Capital focusing on investments in Cleantech and IT, Software and Communications.
Previously, Mark was Senior Vice President Global IT and CIO for Oracle Corporation, the world’s largest enterprise software provider where he managed global resources in 145 countries including Oracle’s On Demand (SaaS/cloud) operations. Prior to that, Mark co-managed an IT Outsourcing business at SAI where he also and sponsored nine strategic investments in early stage and growth companies resulting in “top tier” VC returns for the company.
Mark also held executive positions with Raytheon and Honeywell and was also a principle in two successful start-ups. Prior to entering the startup and corporate business world, Mark spent four years in professional football with the New York Jets, Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs.

Paweł Tomczuk
Paweł Tomczuk is the Managing Director of Ciszewski MSL Financial Communications. In his role Paweł is responsible for managing the largest financial communications consultancy on the Polish market, focusing on investor relations, financial industry, professional services, and real estate sector communications. Paweł also advises key clients on communication strategy and crisis communications. Paweł has worked with some of Poland’s largest banks, insurers, asset management and private equity firms as well as multinational investment banks, law firms and consulting firms. In addition he has advised on a number of M&As including one of three largest acquisitions in the history of Poland’s energy sector.

Lukas Grabiec
Lukas Grabiec is Senior Corporate Counsel at Microchip Technology Inc. and was for 7 years prior Corporate Counsel at Intel Corporation and Honeywell International. Lukas was most recently recognized in the legal community as the “Up and Comer” Attorney of the Year for 2012 by the Association of Corporate Counsel and also was selected to the prestigious School for Leaders (Szkoła Liderów) program in Warsaw, Poland sponsored by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He is heavily involved in various organizations including being the Chairman of the State Bar of Arizona In-House Counsel Committee, current Southwest Region Director and founding member of the US-Poland Trade Council (USPTC) Office, and organizer of the Polish Heritage Night in the NBA. Lukas received his Juris Doctorate (JD) from Case Western Reserve University, his MBA from École de Hautes Études Commerciales (EDHEC) (France), a B.S. in Political Science from the University of Houston Honors College as well as a Certificate of Polish Studies from Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland. During law school he worked with the U.N. Special Court for Sierra Leone and wrote briefs helping prosecute War Criminals. Dominik Schmidt
Dominik Schmidt, M.S.M., Ph.d., PE, has been working in the semiconductor industry for 23 years. He was at Altera working on reconfigurable logic and has worked with Sharp, TI, Cypress, and TSMC. Among many other startups, Dominik cofounded Pixel devices International (PdI) in 1997, one of the first companies to offer CMOS imaging chips. After PdI was acquired by Agilent, he founded Airify Communications, specializing in multi-protocol wireless chip design. After the acquisition of Airify, Schmidt was at Intel Corporation leading efforts to design the next generation of advanced wireless products. His last position at Intel was CTO of the Intel Foundry and he is now working on technology investments at QVT Financial, a top New York hedge fund. He has also worked for the Stanford Linear Accelerator and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory on several advanced projects, and has consulted for several large companies and startups in the mixed-signal and RF design areas. He has taught at UC Berkeley since 2000 and also teaches at Tsinghua University in Beijing and at the International Technological University where he is an adjunct professor. He is writing a graduate textbook on RF design for Elsevier Press. dominik is also a helicopter pilot and is a Lieutenant Commander for the US Coast guard.
Bob Foster
Bob Foster taught half time as a lecturer for 15 years while a full time business executive and 15 years ago joined the faculty full time. Teach Business Plan Development, High Technology Management and direct the Global Access Program (GAP) program.
GAP Director for the past 14 years. GAP is the international field study course which is the master’s degree thesis equivalent for Anderson’s Fully-Employed MBA students. Provide overall academic direction for the six-month, 10 unit course with 260 students and 14 faculty advisors. Students work closely with international executives for 6 months to develop strategic business plans to enter new foreign markets. To date 2,870 students and 592 companies from 20 countries have participated. Companies have received over $400 million of invested capital after they completed the program. Interface with GAP’s international partners in Finland, Sweden, Italy, New Zealand, Australia and Brazil. Received a Knight, First Class, Order of the White Rose knighthood, from Finland, for GAP’s service over 14 years to 165 Finnish high technology companies.

Previously was President of Thomas Bros. Maps, publisher of Thomas Guide street maps and digital map products, creating one of the first digital map products. Increased sales from $15m to $30mil. Staff of 260. Before that was Founder & President of Ellison Robotics, a startup to design and build factory robotic manufacturing systems. Sold $30m of projects in 5 years, including painting the camouflaged General Dynamics M1A1 Abrams tank, McDonnell Douglas and General Dynamics cruise missiles and the Northrop B-2 stealth bomber. Sold robotic arc welding systems to Steelcase, Caterpillar and John Deere.
Previously spent 13 years as Vice-President of Marketing at Xerox Computer Services, a startup division providing accounting and manufacturing software Saas services. It was a pioneer in cloud computing. Had full P&L responsibility for North America, an $80 million division managing 550 employees, with 105 direct sales representatives in 19 U.S. branch offices. The first three years was Vice President of Software Development, managing three computer centers with 15 large mainframe computers, a $21 million budget and 330 employees, including 130 programmers.

Tomasz Grzybowski
Tomasz Grzybowski is involved as a private investor/mentor in the start-up industry in Poland. He is executive with over 20 years of experience combining marketing and business management in seed and start-ups. Tomasz is the owner of small seed fund with 8 portfolio investments (different industries). He has got some practical knowledge in investment area from business idea to exit (IPO, financial investor). He is on the Supervisory Boards of several professional organizations.
Oliwia Bieniek
Oliwia Bieniek graduated from University of Wrocław with a B.S. in biology and M.Sc. in microbiology and genetics, finished post-graduate studies for R&D sector managers and IPMA project management course, among others. From 2010 she has co-developed the Polish division of Knowledge Innovation and Implementation Community for Climate under European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) where she coordinated international projects. In Pioneers into Practice programme she was creating cooperation between business, academia and government specialists to fuel innovations in clean technologies, and also mentored Participants in system innovations for three years.

Stan Lewandowski
Stan Lewandowski is a transactional lawyer who focuses his practice on representing emerging businesses as well as more mature domestic and international companies operating primarily in the information and communications technology and renewable energy sectors. His emerging business work includes advising start-up and early-stage technology clients on a variety of issues, including business formation, venture capital financing, private offerings, intellectual property licensing, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, joint ventures and day-to-day corporate governance issues. Clay Bullwinkel
Clay Bullwinkel brings 30 years of relationships with large and small technology industry leaders both in the U.S. and in Central and East Europe (CEE), including many with world-class design and engineering capabilities. He currently acts as the CEO of Aiton Caldwell Inc., a U.S. nationwide provider of hosted VoIP PBX business telephone service, originating from two sister companies in Gdańsk, Poland which form the leading provider in CEE.
He previously led development, product management and marketing of PC and enterprise software, data networking products, and handheld systems for such companies as Hewlett Packard, 3Com, IBM, Microsoft and Intel. Mr. Bullwinkel advised Microsoft, Intel, Cisco, Hewlett Packard, Samsung, Motorola, and Google on creating or expanding development centers in CEE. In 2008-2011, he advised gaming company One2Tribe of Poland on finding game publishers in the U.S. He is a Co-founder and on the Board of Directors of the U.S. Polish Trade Council
Voytek Siewierski
Voytek Siewierski is a successful venture capitalist in Silicon Valley and a longterm telecommunications executive. He is the founder and Managing Partner of VSSV Ventures in Silicon Valley. Previously he was a General Partner with Rogers Ventures Partners in Palo Alto and an Investment Partner at Mitsui Ventures in Menlo Park Silicon Valley. In the last three years Voytek brought three companies public Ruckus Wireless (NYSE RKUS $1,5 Bln market cap), Bio Amber (NYSE Bio Amber, Boingo Wireless (NASDAQ Wi-Fi) and had a number of big M&A transactions, including acquisition of Becceem Communications by Broadcom and acquisition of Hellosoft by Imagination Technologies. In addition Voytek served on numerous Boards of Directors, including Docurated, Trust ID, Relay 2, Rainstor, Palamida, MoBeam, 4Info, LensVector, Xtract and others. He is also a Supervisory Board Member of MCI Management SA in Poland.
Before moving to Silicon Valley Voytek spent 8 years with the biggest Japanese cellular telecommunications operator, NTT DoCoMo, which included 6 years in Tokyo and 2 years in London. As an Executive Director at NTT DoCoMo he coordinated DoCoMo’s international technology partnerships, and was.an active member of i-mode project (iPhone 10 years before iPhone), and also developed a number of successful value added mobile services with partners such as Walt Disney Corporation, Warner Brothers, CNN, and others.
He executed a number of international equity investments in cellular carriers in Europe and Asia and initiated a number of technology licensing projects between DoCoMo and mobile operators such as KPN Mobile in Holland, Telefonica in Spain, Bouygues Telecom in France and KG Telecom in Taiwan. Mr. Siewierski holds M.A.L.D from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy from Tufts University/Harvard with Graduate courses in Information Technology, International Marketing, Product Development, and International Investment from the Harvard Business School. Voytek has been a visiting Lecturer at the University of Oxford, and a judge in several technology awards programs, including Tech Pioneers of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
